此香爐所属之类备受南宋宫廷青睐，殊为珍罕。素净端丽，其釉色青灰，莹澈温润，片纹层迭，疏密有致，釉厚若堆脂，触之凝滑如丝，观之赏心悦目。将其置于放大镜下，可见釉层满布气泡，细入毫芒，古称「聚沬攒珠」。气泡经散射而晶亮通透，使器表隐现酥光宝晕，宛若和田美玉。釉上又以开裂缀衬，素有「金丝铁线」之述。侧壁平坦微斜，平添趣味，更显六方形制之雅。此器乃南宋官瓷佳例，釉面莹滑，片纹端匀，匠心之巧、技艺之高、气韵之卓，尽览无遗。
