罐短直颈，丰肩，肩以下渐收敛，圈足，盖平顶无纽。罐外施斗彩纹饰:肩部及近足处饰仰覆蕉叶纹，此器胎体细腻洁白，釉汁莹润平滑，红、绿、黄诸彩搭配，谐调亮丽。罐底青花楷书"天"字，故有天字罐之称。
此罐造型端庄秀丽，色彩鲜艳柔和，是明成化时瓷器的典型器。拍品为一对，更是难得，弥足珍贵。
