鸡心碗系明永乐、宣德年间流行的碗式之一，存世颇为罕见。因碗底心有鸡心样突起，故曰“鸡心碗”。另因器形似莲子，又名“莲子碗”。有白釉刻划印和青花等装饰。青花器外壁多饰条形莲瓣纹，永乐多呈单体细长莲瓣，宣德多为双层宽短莲瓣。清康熙、雍正多有仿制。除了纹饰的不同外，永乐鸡心碗相较于宣德者尚有体轻、足矮的特点。此类鸡心碗除作贡御之用外，另有一部分被送至中东，伊朗阿德比尔神庙亦见有此类瓷碗。此碗为永乐青花的典型器，造型精巧，青花色泽艳丽，壁薄体轻，胎质细腻，绘制娴熟，描绘盘曲迂回，生动活泼，潇洒自然，纹饰布局严谨，高洁雅致，展现出永乐时期青花瓷清新明快的艺术魅力。
